Trust magazine and Scottish Mortgage win at AIC awards
Transcript (pdf)
Baillie Gifford’s Trust magazine and Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust both emerged victorious at the AIC’s annual Best Information to Shareholders Awards.
Trust magazine won the Best Newsletter category for the third time since it was launched in 2004. Baillie Gifford was praised for producing a very professional publication which was first and foremost a ‘good read’. It was also noted that Trust struck the right balance between editorial content and information on the investment companies themselves.
Scottish Mortgage won the Best Report & Accounts – Generalist category with an engaging and well laid out report. The AIC judging panel noted the philosophy and long-term objectives of the trust were well conveyed and the managers’ report was both interesting and easy to read.
Ian Sayers, Director General, Association of Investment Companies (AIC) said:
“These awards are recognised throughout the industry as setting the standard for shareholder communications. This standard has remained high amid an ever increasing demand from private investors for clear, palatable information on their investments. Echoes of this demand could be seen in the judges’ preference for entries showing clarity of information and high levels of detail."
The two awards won by Baillie Gifford demonstrate that they are at the forefront of the investment trust’s industry’s commitment to promoting best practice in shareholder communications.
